Below you will find Frequently Asked Questions. Some questions are related to all graduating students and some questions are specific to your degree type. So, be sure to scroll down and read all questions pertaining to your status.
Question: When do I receive my actual diploma?
Answer: Students who post a degree on May 4 may pick up their diploma immediately following the Commencement Ceremony. Diplomas will be available for approximately 1 hour after the ceremony. Diplomas not picked up after the ceremony will be available in the Office of the University Registrar (YC B161) during regular business hours. Remaining diplomas will be mailed to the address form listed on your Student Exit Form. Click here for more information about diplomas.
Question: What time do I have to arrive for Commencement related events?

Question: Will there be sign language interpreting?
Answer: An interpreter will be provided during the Commencement Ceremony for guests who are hearing disabled. Click here for more information about ceremony accomodations.
Question: Can I sit with my friends/classmates during the ceremony?
Answer: Yes! At the MANDATORY graduation rehearsal, Master's Students will line up by School/College and Program and Bachelor's degree candidates will line up within their respective Schools/Colleges. All students may choose who they wish to be seated next to within the perameters set forth above. Click here for more information about the MANDATORY rehearsal.
Question: How many guests can I invite?
Answer: As many as you'd like! There is no limit on the number of guests you can invite to graduation. Click here for more information about Guest Seating.
Question: Do I need to return my cap and gown?
Answer: No. The cap and gowns do not need to be returned. They are yours to keep. Click here for more information about regalia.
BACHELOR DEGREE CANDIDATES
Question: When will I get my honors cords?
Answer: Cords will be distributed at the MANDATORY graduation rehearsal to qualified Bachelor's Degree candidates. Click here for more information about honor cords.
MASTER DEGREE CANDIDATES
Question: When will I receive my hood?
Answer: You will receive your hood during the hooding ceremony presented by your respective program. If you are unable to attend the hooding ceremony, your hood will be available at the MANDATORY commencement rehearsal. Click here for more information about the Hooding Ceremonies.
Question: How are we celebrating our accomplishments?
