Jeffrey Scott Biddle, LMFT, Counseling Center Director

Jeff Biddle holds a B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Sacramento, as well as an M.Div. in Practical Theology from Talbot School of Theology and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. He is a licensed Marriage Family Therapist. Jeff assumed the position of Counseling Center Director at California Baptist University in August 2013. For the previous 17 years, he served as a pastor, directing and overseeing a Christian counseling center, leading marriage ministry, support groups, a 12-step Biblical recovery program; and served as chaplain to the church staff. Jeff has maintained a private practice since 2005, specializing in couples therapy, specifically for those in crisis, as well as working with individuals suffering from depression, anxiety and sexual addiction. Jeff is married to Michele, and the couple has three children, Brooke, Joshua, and Scotty.

Alan McThomas, Ph.D., Counseling Center Lead Clinical Supervisor

Alan R. McThomas earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Rosemead Graduate School of Psychology and has been practicing in the field of psychotherapy since 1967. Beginning in 1978, Alan served as a director and clinical psychologist with Christian Psychological Services in Riverside, where he continues to maintain his clinical practice.

Julie Greenwalt, Counseling Center Office Manager

Julie Greenwalt graduated from California Baptist University with a B.A. in Behavioral Science. She assumed the position of secretary in the Counseling Center in June 2006 and became the office manager in 2013.

Laura Abbott, Counseling Center Secretary

Laura Abbott graduated from Southern Illinois University, where she received a B.S. in Health Care Management. She assumed the position of secretary in the Counseling Center in February 2014.

Maria Aldana, MFT Trainee

Maria Aldana graduated from Biola University with a B.A. in psychology and is currently working toward an M.S. degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University. She is interested in working with children, families, and individuals and is fluent in Spanish.

Vicki Andrews, MFT Intern

Vicki Andrews received her B.S. degree in Psychology at National University and an M.S. degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University. She has 16 years of experience as a day care director. She has also worked as a youth counselor and enjoys working with parents, adolescents, special needs children, and women. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich, a program for premarital and marital counseling.

Katie Armstrong, MFT Trainee

Katie Armstrong earned her B.A. in Psychology and is currently working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She is interested in working with children, individuals, and families, particularly those dealing with grief and loss. She is also interested in providing premarital counseling.

Linda Bramel, MFT Intern

Linda Bramel graduated from California State University, San Bernardino with a B.S. in Psychology and earned an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She has experience working with small groups and is interested in working with women, children, and families, as well as persons suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD). She is certified in Prepare/Enrich, a program for premarital and marital counseling.

Ramona Carver, LMFT

Ramona Carver completed her B.S. in Liberal Studies and earned her M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She has worked for the Women's Crisis Intervention Agency in Oceanside and enjoys working with women, families, and couples. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich, a program for premarital and marital counseling.

Johanna Covarrubias, MFT Intern

Johanna Covarrubias received her B.S. in Social Work at California State University, Los Angeles, and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She has experience working with children with severe special needs and is interested in working with children, youth, young adults, and families. Johanna is fluent in Spanish.

Rita Cuellar, MFT Intern

Rita Cuellar received her B.A. in Psychology at California Baptist University and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology. She has worked as a health educator, child care liason, ProSocial Skills instructor, and gang member interviewer. Rita is fluent in Spanish and is interested in working with couples and families, and has taught parenting classes and anger management classes.

Shannon Duell, MFT Trainee

Shannon Duell earned her B.A. in Political Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder and is currently working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich and is interested in working with couples and individuals, particularly those struggling with depression, anxiety, or grief and loss.

Cianna Edge, MFT Intern

Cianna Edge obtained her B.A. in Psychology and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She has experience working as an outreach counselor and is interested in working with children, adolescents, couples, and families, particularly with persons dealing with depression and abuse. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich, a program for premarital and marital counseling.

Michael Finlay, MFT Intern

Michael Finlay earned his B.A. in psychology from the University of Maryland and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. He is interested in working with families, military personnel, athletes, and persons dealing with PTSD.

Dorothy Kay Geiger, MFT Intern

Dorothy Geiger received her B.A. in psychology from Harding University and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She has experience working with teenagers and is interested in working with individuals, couples, and families in distress.

Whitney Hicks, MFT Trainee

Whitney Hicks obtained her B.A. in English and Psychology and is currently working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology with an LPCC concentration at California Baptist University. She has experience as an ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) therapist at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders. Whitney is interested in working with children, adolescents, individuals, and families.

Naomi Joyce, MFT Intern

Naomi Joyce earned her B.A. and M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She currently works with adults and adolescents who are involved with the legal system as well as has experience with premarital and marital counseling. She is interested in working with families, couples, and children.

Jonathan Kane, MFT Intern

Jonathan Kane obtained his B.A. in psychology and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. He has experience in premarital counseling and is interested in working with families, couples, and individuals. He enjoys helping with parenting issues and working with autistic children.

Michael LoGiudice, MFT Intern

Michael LoGiudice obtained his B.A. in psychology at Ashford University and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. He has experience working as a behavioral specialist and is interested in helping individuals with PTSD, grief, and using narrative psychology.

Hattie Pearl McNutt, MFT Trainee

Hattie McNutt received her B.A. in Marketing and an M.A. in Management from Saint Mary's University. She is currently working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. Hattie has experience as a behavior coach with children and adults, and as a counselor at the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center for Men. She has also worked with underserved youth, at-risk teen girls, and low income persons. She is interested in working with children, young adults, adults, families, and couples.

Gary Miner, MFT Intern

Gary Miner earned his B.A. and M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. He has served as program director, program coordinator, case manager, and system administrator at a drug/alcohol rehabilitation center and is interested in working with families and those needing drug/alcohol counseling.

Yvonne Munoz, MFT Intern

Yvonne Munoz earned her B.A. and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology and Counseling Ministry at California Baptist University. She is interested in working with children and young women in particular and has experience working to integrate college students into campus life.

Miriam Ordiales, MFT Intern

Miriam Ordiales obtained a B.S. in Human Services and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University. She has taught parenting classes for court mandated/CPS and school referrals at the YWCA in Riverside. Miriam is interested in working with families, couples, children, and individuals in crisis, and she is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Sarah Palacio, MFT Intern

Sarah Capili earned her B.A. in psychology at the University of California, Riverside, and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology and Forensic Psychology at California Baptist University. She is interested in working with individuals, couples, families, and children.

Tarron Phillips, MFT Intern

Tarron Phillips obtained his B.A. in sociology and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology and Counseling Ministry at California Baptist University. Tarron has served as a minister to youth and is interested in working with young people, families, and marriage issues.

Teresa Rimmer, MFT Intern

Teresa Rimmer completed her B.A. in psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles, and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She is interested in working with individuals, couples, families, and children, as well as parenting issues.

Andrew Rudd, MFT Trainee

Andrew Rudd obtained his B.A. in Psychology and is currently working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. He has experience working in youth ministry and is interested in working with adolsecents, families, and couples.

Melani Samples, MFT Trainee

Melani Samples earned her B.A. in Liberal Studies and Human Development and is currently working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University. She speaks German and has experience working with children with autism, ADD/ADHD, and conduct disorder, and is interested in working with special needs children. She is also interested in working with individuals, families, and couples dealing with anxiety disorders, substance abuse disorders, and personality disorders.

Jennifer VanBeek, MFT Intern

Jennifer VanBeek completed her B.A. in Recreation at Calvin College and her M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She has experience working with elementary school-age children and has worked extensively with youth. She is interested in working with children, youth, young adults, and families.

Tesia Leane Webster, MFT Trainee

Tesia Webster obtained her B.A. in psychology from Mt. San Jacinto Community College and California Baptist University, and is currently working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology with an LPCC concentration at California Baptist University. She has experience working with homeless families as well as with children and college-age individual abroad. Tesia is interested in working with students adjusting to new cultures, as well as individuals dealing with depression, trauma, and personality disorders.

Siobhan Welsh, MFT Trainee

Siobhan Welsh received her B.A. in Human Development and Counseling Psychology at Prescott College. She is currently working toward an M.S. in Counseling Psychology and an M.A. in Counseling Ministry with a concentration in LPCC at California Baptist University. Siobhan has experience as a court-appointed special advocate for foster children and as a patient advocate at the Pregnancy Resource Center. She has also worked as a Setting Captives Free mentor for women & girls. She is interested in working with children, adolescents, young adults, couples, and families, particularly those in crisis.

Gail Ann White-Biggers, MFT Intern

Gail White-Biggers earned her B.A. in Psychology and a dual masters degree in Counseling Psychology and Forensic Psychology at California Baptist University. Gail has volunteered as a life skills counselor in a re-entry program and has a passion for working with families, couples, youth, and individuals in crisis.

Daisy Whitfield, MFT Intern

Daisy Whitfield earned her B.S. in Behavioral Science and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. She has worked as a childcare worker for at-risk teenagers and as an ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) therapist for families with children diagnosed with autism and other development disabilities. She is interested in working with children, families, and couples, particularly for premarital counseling. She is fluent in Spanish and enjoys assisting the Hispanic community in locating community resources.
