Student Health Services

Health Insurance is not available to Graduate Students on a voluntary basis.  Graduate International Students are required to enroll in the student health insurance plan offered through United Healthcare Student Resources and are not allowed to opt out of the plan.  Graduate Students in the Nursing program are required to carry health insurance and are therefore automatically enrolled on the plan through United Healthcare Student Resources.  However, nursing students with comparable coverage may cancel their insurance by completing an online waiver prior to the deadline.  Click here to learn more about the student health insurance plan offered through United Healthcare Student Resources and to access the online waiver.

CBU also provides all students with access to the Wellness Center. The CBU Wellness Center contains both the Health Center and the Counseling Center and is located at 3510 Adams St. in the southwest corner of Lancer Plaza.

The Health Center

All members of the CBU campus community are eligible for care at the Health Center. Students are encouraged to visit the Health Center at the onset of illness symptoms and other health-related concerns.

The Health Center is operated in cooperation with Riverside Medical Clinic. In addition to accepting the student health insurance provided by California Baptist University, most PPOs and HMOs are also accepted (Kaiser Permanente is not accepted). For ongoing care and prescriptions for preexisting conditions, you should visit your primary care physician.

The Health Center is normally open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome or you can call 951.321.6520 to set up an appointment.

The Counseling Center

The Counseling Center is dedicated to providing professionally competent and personally compassionate care for the individuals, couples, and families who come to us for counseling services. They also provide supervision and training to practicum students in the Counseling Psychology graduate program.

Services offered without charge to all California Baptist University students include individual, group, couples, pre-marital, and marriage and family counseling. The Counseling Center is normally open Monday through Friday from 8am to 9pm and Saturdays from 9am to 4pm. If you would like to meet with a counselor, please request an appointment or call 951.689.1120.
